Take part in the Olympics and Paralympics Open Weekend

Between 24 - 26 July 2009 there will be arts and sporting events all over the UK inspired by London 2012 that enable people - young or old - to join in.  If you are organising an event that could happen during Open Weekend, you can register now and receive a comprehensive branding toolkit and marketing material featuring the London 2012 logo.

You can be part of Open Weekend if your event is connected to sport, culture, education or sustainability. The theme is Open Up. Commercially sponsored events are not allowed to be part of the weekend.

Here are some examples of the things people did last year:

- trying out new sports

- learning to be a DJ

- busking in public spaces

- sporting film festival

- community arts trail

- tours of hidden places

- open rehearsals

- outdoor performances

- storytelling
